While we are waiting on Jelsoft to release vBulletin 3.7, I have compiled a list of improvements and new features that will be added to Using Your OS.
Arcade
The arcade software will be ibProArcade. There will tournaments and new games added frequently.
vBExperience
vBExperience is an activity modification and it will show a bar and some text in every post. These bars represent the activity the user has contributed to the forum.
Lottery
I will make the lottery a full-featured lottery, with a prize in OS$ for whoever wins. You can guess numbers yourself, or have the computer guess them. The person who has the closest number will get the prize. All this will be done automatically using vBCredits.
New theme
I am currently testing a theme called “Webber.” I really like it, and I hope you do, too. The reason I am getting a new theme is because the author of PR Blue isn’t making an updated version for vBulletin 3.7.
AME Embed
This is a modification which will allow users to embed videos and other media in their posts. These media items will NOT be stored on this servers, which means that you can use videos from YouTube, etc.
Contest
The contest will be a referral contest and the prize will be a VIM membership and OS$. You will have to refer as many members as possible and they will have to make at least 5 good posts. This is to bring some new activity to the forum.
Submit to directories
I will submit Using Your OS to a few directories in order to get some backlinks. You can feel free to submit us to directores as well!
Sitemap/Keyword Modifications
These mods will help our SEO (search engine optimization). We will not be using Zoints SEO because it is unsupported, also I am not re-writing URLs (actually switched to normal URLs a while back).
vBAdvanced
I will use vBAdvanced for the home page. This will make the home page more personalized, and will show forum information and a welcome page to guests.
Advertising
I will be advertising Using Your OS on releated forums. This should bring in more activity and members. You can advertise us as well, however we are not responsible if you break the rules at the website you advertise us at.
Shop
The shop will be implemented so that you can buy enhanced items (and maybe even a VIM membership!) It is in beta, so please report bugs to me.
